Their Fingers Did the Walking: Clever Thief Swipes Cellphones

The five-o are searching for a thief in the county who has a penchant for cell phones and quirky T-shirts.
Two weeks ago, the perp ganked a phone in an AT&T store in Bridgeton while wearing a T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase "I Drink and I Know Things" from the HBO series "Game of Thrones."
Then, recently, the same guy wore a T-shirt featuring the DC Comics superhero The Flash when he casually walked out of the AT&T store in Town and Country with two phones, valued at $2,300. He may have had an accomplice who helped distract a store clerk.

Town and Country Police Detective Chris Hunt said the thief is described as a Hispanic man with a mustache and beard and a muscular build. He wore a baseball cap, stars-and-stripes shorts and mirrored sunglasses. He left in a black Chevrolet Trailblazer with rust on the passenger side.

Police asked anyone who recognizes the man to call Hunt at 587-2866.

The thief won't be able to use the phones because the phones are now flagged as stolen, but the person he sells them to probably won't realize that, Hunt said.
