Kill Your Friends with Kindness; But Not Literally or You’’ll Be Juiced

Apparenlty , justice isn’t blind, and many city Jurors have had it, apparently with all these cold-blooded senseless killings no matter what your heritage, they ain’t accepting no snow jobs of late.

So, it was no surprise to the New Evening Whirl, that 21-year-old Rey Hernandez was recently hampered with a VERDICT of guilty of murdering two friends, rejecting his claim that he killed them in self-defense. Yea, right, if you say so. He was better off telling the court and anyone who would listen that he had an insane moment, due to tainted and stale siders.

The jury deliberated for a little more than two hours before finding Hernandez guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of armed criminal action.

Hernandez, of the 4500 block of Gravois, showed a cold-hearted ‘tude’ when he gunned down Mr. James Cobb Jr., 23, and Mr. Haris Hajdarevic, 22 late in the evening several years back. He testified that he grabbed Cobb’s gun during a struggle and shot them both out of fear.

“If he had a gun in that car, he was going to use it,” Hernandez said on the stand. “It happened because I felt threatened. I was scared he was going to kill me.”

Hernandez was dating Cobb’s baby mama when Hernandez shot the pair in front of Cobb’s family’s house in the 4400 block of Taft. Hernandez and Cobb had exchanged taunts on Facebook before the shooting; Hernandez testified that Cobb threatened him, and Hernandez replied that Cobb should “stop running from his responsibilities as a father.” Cobb and his ex-girlfriend were in a custody dispute.

Big Bad Rey is being Sentenced on June 8, before the honorable Circuit Judge Elizabeth Hogan. The mandatory sentence for first-degree murder is life in prison without parole. The Missouri attorney general’s office, which prosecuted the case because of a conflict with Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner’s office, did not seek the death penalty, but should have to send a message that killing people, and shooting in public where babies and old people can be innocent victims deserve the chair or da juice.
